Otonabee Conservation advises that the FLOOD WATCH is now CANCELLED for the entire Otonabee Region watershed area.
Area residents and businesses located along the shores of the region’s lakes, rivers and streams are advised that flood conditions no longer exist.
The precipitation event on December 20 and 21, 2018 produced 25 mm of rain across the watershed region, much less than the forecast suggested. Area rivers, streams and creeks were able to safely convey the increase in water levels and flows without causing any flooding issues. Water levels in the rivers, streams and creeks have receded to levels before the rain event.
Otonabee Conservation will continue to monitor weather forecasts and watershed conditions and issue flood messages as required.
