Canoeing/Kayaking

Come spend some time with us on the water in a canoe or kayak. It’s Canoeing 101 – flat water, a gentle current, and lots of great scenery and wildlife. Bring your own canoe or rent one of ours.

At Beavermead Campground, you can explore downtown Peterborough from the water as you paddle along Meade Creek and on into Little Lake.

At the Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Campground, a trip to the village of Warsaw by canoe is just two hours out and two hours back and makes a great day trip. Or, you can just amble along the Indian River at your leisure for as little or as long as you like.

Download a copy of our canoe trip guides. Choose your adventure and plan your own paddling expedition; the Little Lake Canoe Trip Guide (Beavermead) or the Indian River Canoe Trip Guide (Warsaw Caves).

Canoe rentals are available at the gatehouse.

$12.00 hour / $48.00 day (inclusive of all taxes, one hour minimum)

Rental includes canoe, paddles, life jackets, and marine safety kit. A limited number of single person kayaks are available. Note that parking or admission fees apply in addition to equipment rental fees (at the Warsaw Caves Conservation and Campground only).

All equipment must be returned by 7:00pm (Friday & Saturday); by 4:30pm (Sunday to Thursday); unless otherwise posted. Earlier return times apply in the fall as daylight hours shorten.

Be safe on the water. Wear your life jacket. The use of alcohol is prohibited.
