Fire Ban lifted at Warsaw Caves but still in place at Beavermead Campground.

Updated July 24, 2020

A fire ban has been lifted by order of the Fire Chief of Douro-Dummer Township but still remains in place in Peterborough by order of the Fire Chief for the City of Peterborough.

This means that currently, campfires are allowed at Warsaw Caves Conservation Area from dusk until midnight. Campfires are not allowed at Beavermead Campground. Please refer to the lists below to see which units may be used during a fire ban for cooking and warmth at Beavermead Campground.

Beavermead Campground

Campers are able to use the following for cooking and for warmth:

  • Charcoal in a commercially produced grill / unit designed for cooking, grilling, or baking.
  • A Technical Standards and Safety Board (TSSA) approved BBQ, stove, heater, etc. that uses propane or natural gas.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause for those who have booked an upcoming stay with us. We will let you know if there is any change in the fire ban, or if it is lifted.
