The Be a Watershed Steward program is delivered in partnership between Otonabee Conservation and Camp Kawartha.
The program has two components:
- Full-day session at the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre where students learn about water quality, habitat, watersheds and ecosystems; and,
- Half-day outdoor session with Otonabee Conservation staff to turn the knowledge gained at the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre into action. Students take part in an active stewardship program that may include species identification, planting to enhance local wildlife habitat and biodiversity and a discussion about the impacts of land based activities on water quality.
For further information about the program, please refer to the Be A Watershed Steward program brochure available on the Camp Kawartha website.
