Tree Planting

The benefits of trees are well known. Planting trees helps regulate temperatures and provides shelter for wildlife. Did you know that one tree has the cooling effect of 10 air conditioners?  Trees also filter the air we breathe and capture carbon to mitigate climate change. Other benefits include stabilizing soil to prevent erosion, and reducing stormwater runoff and flooding. Being surrounded by trees can reduce stress, improving our physical and mental health. Studies show that in areas with more trees, asthma rates in young children decrease.

Thinking about planting a tree? Be sure to find out where underground utilities are located before you dig by contacting Ontario One Call or your local municipality.
