FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | FLOOD WARNING downgraded to FLOOD WATCH for the Trent Severn-Waterway

The FLOOD WARNING for the Trent Severn Waterway is downgraded to a FLOOD WATCH

The WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY issued for local watercourses within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation remains in effect.

Water levels and flows, while still elevated, are now receding along Trent-Severn Waterway within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation. Although there is rain forecasted for our area, it is not expected to impact the current slow and steady recession.

Local water levels are receding and this is expected to continue. However, residents are reminded to stay away from shorelines as unsafe conditions will persist on and around all area watercourses, including slippery and unstable banks, extremely cold water and fast and turbulent flows.
