Swimming and Beaches

There are many beaches within the Otonabee Region watershed. Several of our Conservation Areas feature beautiful beaches that are perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day.

Please note that swimming areas are not supervised. Dogs are not allowed on the beach. Alcohol use is not permitted.

Selwyn Beach Conservation Area

Selwyn Beach Conservation Area is known for its sandy beach and swimming area, that is surrounded by cool shade of sweeping cedar trees. A great place to cool down on hot, sunny days.

Squirrel Creek Conservation Area

Enjoy the waters of the Otonabee River and a narrow sandy shoreline at Squirrel Creek Conservation Area - a great place to float in the gentle current and enjoy the surrounding forest.

Warsaw Caves Conservation Area

Enjoy a day at the Warsaw Caves Conservation Area beach and cool off with a dip in our swimming area on the Indian River. The water is shallow and ideal for little ones to wade and play in the sand.

Beavermead Campground

Beavermead Campground is located right next to Beavermead Park, which features a beautiful beach on Little Lake, right in the City of Peterborough.

Lakefield Campground

Lakefield Campground is located right next to the lovely, sandy Lakefield Beach, where you can enjoy swimming and beautiful scenery right in the Village of Lakefield.
