Otonabee Conservation is conducting vegetarian restoration work on the Millbrook dam to address significant erosion and safeguard critical infrastructure. The project will help stabilize the area, protect critical infrastructure, and reduce the risk of further erosion.

Employees from Siemens Canada in Peterborough joined Tree Canada and Otonabee Conservation to plant 70 native trees at the Otonabee and Monaghan Court Seniors residence in Keene on June 10, 2026.

The current FLOOD WATCH or the Trent Severn-Waterway will remain in effect as the Kawartha Lakes and Otonabee River continue to face an elevated flood risk due to high and fluctuating water levels and flows. The Watershed Condition Statement – Water Safety for local watercourses will also remain in place.

Water levels and flows, while still elevated, are now receding along Trent-Severn Waterway within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation.

Flood Warning - has been extended for the Trent-Severn Waterway in the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation

WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY has been downgraded from a FLOOD WATCH for local watercourses within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation

Forecasts indicate rainfall will continue over the next five days. As a result, rising water levels has prompted Otonabee Conservation to upgrade the flood risk for local watercourses to a FLOOD WATCH and extend the existing FLOOD WARNING for the Trent-Severn Waterway within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation.

Otonabee Conservation is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 camping season, with reservations now open through a brand-new online booking platform, CAMIS.

Reservations are available for Otonabee Conservation’s campgrounds, including Warsaw Caves Conservation Area (CA) and Beavermead Campground.

Updated forecasts indicate significant rainfall over the next five days, combined with increased runoff from rain and snowmelt in the Haliburton–Reservoir Lakes region. As a result, water levels and flows are expected to rise rapidly, and flooding in low-lying areas is imminent—particularly along the Otonabee River.
